General comments:

Ana Voog's current focus seems to be on the presentation of a public persona—a kind of performance art. This is apparent in her music, too, but it goes beyond the show into actual interesting music. I'm not a big electronic dance fan, but I still find Ana Woog's music worth a listen. (Neile)

Her album really is great...she has a website (anacam.com), she was one of the very first pioneers of the webcam culture that's springing up all over the place...ana's very much a performance artist.... (John.Drummond)

Comments:

Ana Voog is amazing and wonderful...I've had her CD anavoog.com since June of 1998, and I still listen to it a lot. It was in my top ten of 1998. In her own words, she makes "electronic pop, for lack of a better term," but that's kind of a bastardized way of putting it. Yes, there's programmed beats and thudding bass (ahhhhh...), but her lyrics are far better (original metaphors, by God!) than most other dance-type stuff...when I finally get around to doing drag, I'm definitely going to use at least three of the songs from the CD. She ranges from jazz to disco to ambient, and it's all equally good. Run, don't walk, to get this album. (John.Drummond)

Very nice electronica with great lyrics. Reminds me of a less cerebral Laurie Anderson or a more intellectual Madonna. Brilliant cover of the ever underrated Yoko Ono's "Ask the dragon". (stjarnell@yahoo.com)
