Comments:

I've heard a tape Tanisha Taitt made some years ago but I can't recall that being this good. She writes brilliant lyrics as on "Tale of an A and R Man" which is a sharp diss of such a guy and the critique of organized religion of "Lapsed". Musically she can be soft focused but mostly she's very eclectic. I'm reminded of Sarah McLachlan and Mary Lydia Ryan at times. "Don't" is a brilliant song with nice orchestration. "The roaring Twenties" is sorta half trip-hop half-pop and Taitt's observations on being twenty-something are well done. "The ones you love" is a beautiful soul-searching ballad.
This is an album to spend much time with as each play reveals new layers. (stjarnell@yahoo.com)
