Gavin O'Loghlen & Cotters Bequest is a traditional folk group from Australia. There are 6 members playing 23 instruments in Cotters Bequest, and they are the only group in Australia (and possibly in the world) to write, record, and perform in 5 Celtic languages: Welsh, Cornish, Scottish, Irish, and Manx Gaelic. Comments:
This is a beautiful album. It "seems" pretty straight-forward; there are some instrumentals and some songs with vocals, some slower songs and some more upbeat ones. But the range of the vocalists keeps it lively and surprising. The songs are not very long (all are under 5 minutes), but they have a generous amount of space for both the vocals of the storyline and the instrumentals. Overall the feel is of a slower album, good for quiet afternoons and contemplative moods. (JoAnn Whetsell)
