General comments:

I listened to this one when I got it on spec a couple of years ago, allowed a pile of later acquisitions to grow over it, and have never felt any great urgency about fishing it out :-). The music and lyrics, as best I remember them, are not the worst of their kind, nor the best. However, I doubt that either this or her second album, the name of which I didn't bother to note when I stumbled on it in a record-store bin, will be of much interest to ectophiles who don't maintain an independent interest in the interface between dance music and rap.
No matter what Boo's merits (or lack thereof) on record, the interview with her in the September, 1992 issue of Q magazine, in which she is revealed to really be an ex-schoolteacher named Alison Clarkson, is recommended reading. She comes across as a far more interesting person than her records would lead one to believe. (mapravat@prairienet.org)
