General comments:

Larissa Dalle's soft, mournful, slightly reedy voice pulls you right into her shadowy, sad, and slightly Gothic world. Her recordings are all eps with various incarnations of Larissa Dalle and bands. She does a stripped-down indie melodic kind of pop, a little like early Cat Power or perhaps Lisa Germano. Her sound is offbeat but catches your attention before you realize it. I recommend her to anyone interested in untraditional pop. I really like her work and found that it continues to grow on me. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)

Comments:

Moody. Yes, this is a dark and moody album, with low vocals, but also with surprisingly powerful quiet desperation, always intense and sometimes boiling over. The last two tracks are old-timey countryish, but still in the same emotion as the rest. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)
