OndaRelease info:2006—Mescal (italy)/Omnium (U.S.)—OMM2043 Availability:Wide Ecto priority:Recommended Group members:Lady Jessica Lombardi—piva emiliana bagpipes, bodhràn, vocals Guest artists:Lorenzo "Jovanotti" Cherubini—rap (1) Produced by:Peter Walsh Comments:Fiamma Fumana play their own songs and updated versions of traditional songs with verve and spirit. They use interesting instruments like bagpipes and bodhran and achieve a nice sound. Their lively songs makes me think of Mouth Music and they use modern sounds well. I imagine they'd be an ideal festival band. This album also captures them well. (stjarnell@yahoo.com) Thanks to stjarnell@yahoo.com for work on this entry.
