General comments:
An enchanting mix of crisp punk, black comedy, melodic rock and social awareness packaged with structure and style. Interlocking guitars and intriguing percussion are occasionally spiced with brass and woodwinds. All four members are multi-instrumentalists, and their talents are used to good effect. Translation: they rock, and their music is often complex enough to merit careful and frequent listening.
Although the girls have varying musical influences, ranging from punk to classical...and everything in between, their combined sound is accurately described by Mike Breen from Cincinnati's City Beat magazine. He writes, "If you took the idiosyncrasies of Throwing Muses and infused them with post-punked, angled rhythms, a captivatingly textured guitar patch-work and a melange of evocative melodies and harmony quirks, your Frankenstein's monster would sound something like four piece Arcade (now known as Killjoy Confetti) from Muncie, Indiana." Killjoy Confetti does a remarkable job of recreating their studio performance in a live setting. They don't do too much improv, but they clearly enjoy what they're playing and communicate it to the audience. I'm a big fan of local music because the small-town bands still play music they like, in front of audiences who (mostly) give them a chance. These four ladies stand out from the crowd around here. Either album is representative of the band's sound; check out Into The Light for a more stripped-down sound and punk influence, or The Fun Is for more polished (but still strong) and complex sound. (Greg Dunn)

The band continues to grow and explore complex stylings. Not as sparse and dry as the first CD, but not cluttered with production artifacts either. Very faithful to the band and its music—but again, not as much fun as the live shows. (Greg Dunn)
