Rearick plays individual music, and she sounds mostly like herself. One minute she hammers at the piano and the next she delicately plays it. She gives Leonard Cohen's "Democracy" a dark reading and also covers The Beatles originally. She's clearly an artist with her own vision. She has a great voice and her piano skills are impressive. This album deals with democracy and the lack thereof wonderfully. As before she mixes covers with her own songs to great effect. "Up the wall" looks at economics and is wonderfully accomplished. "Lithe and Blithe" is a complex song, rendered lightly and with confidence. "Windmills of your mind", once sung by Dusty Springfield gets an individual reading, as does "Toy Boat" by Yoko Ono. Rearick's made another great album. She's just channeling her vision a little differently this time. every thing everythingRelease info:2015—uvulittle Records—uvu 307 Availability:See uvulittle Records Ecto priority:Highly recommended Group members:Stephanie Rearick Comments:Stephanie Rearick returns with a new album, and it's as unique and spellbinding as before.
