Like their individual solo efforts
A duo project between country/folk/pop greats Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris.
Recommended first album:
Linda Ronstadt—lead vocal (1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13); harmony (1, 2, 5, 9-12); vocal backing (7)
Paul Kennerley—vocal backing (1); electric guitar (6)
Fine singers in a selection of favorite songs. Not as lulling as I had expected, partially due to unexpected guitar sounds from Ethan Johns. Rosanne Cash's "Western Wall" is perhaps my favorite song, and they more than do it justice here, as with Sinéad O'Connor's "This Is to Mother You" and Leonard Cohen's "Sisters of Mercy".
