Comments:

It's been a while since the last record by Gina Villalobos, and it's a welcome return. She still has a uniquely raspy voice that recalls Lucinda Williams, especially in this country setting. Her timbre is her own though. "Taillights" is a soft, almost dreamy song given weight by that lived-in voice. "Come undone(interstate ache)" lives up to its title, Villalobos telling an effective tale of heartache. "Hold on to Rockets" is a song with a strong melody and an atmosphere that's very well accomplished, it rocks with conviction. "Walk away" closes the proceeding on a good note, Gina singing in that remarkable voice of sadness, but with a hopeful tone. (stjarnell@yahoo.com)
