Meredith Tarr (meth@smoe.org) http://www.smoe.org/meth Hi, my name is Meredith and I'm an ectophile. I've been around ecto pretty much since the beginning, first vicariously and then as virtually as the rest of us. I recently took over maintenance duties of the official ecto web site, and I created and run trajectory, the Veda Hille mailing list. I spend way too much of my free time and money attending live music performances, most often by the likes of The Nields, Veda Hille, Mila Drumke, and Susan McKeown, but there are many others too. I'd much rather be 1/25th of an audience at a small venue in New York City and get a chance to interact with the artist afterwards than sit anonymously surrounded by thousands of others miles away from the stage - but that hasn't kept me from doing just that to see Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan this year. :) (Folk festivals don't count.) My musical pantheon is rather large. My list of supreme goddesses includes Veda Hille, Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Susan McKeown and The Nields. (For the complete list, see http://www.smoe.org/meth/deities.html.) I live in New Haven, Connecticut USA at smoe.central with woj and our silly cats Puck and Tam Lin, surrounded by piles of books and videos and of course scads upon scads of CDs. When I'm not listening to music (either live or recorded) I'm usually reading (favorite authors = Dan Simmons, Melissa Scott, Charles deLint and Neil Gaiman) or watching TV, either of the cult variety (Xena, Buffy, DS9, South Park) or sports (baseball, football, hockey, women's college basketball).
