General comments:

Vocally and musically Tania Alexandra reminds me very much of Devil With Wings-era Mary Lydia Ryan. Like that amazing album, Alexandra's music is wildly create, passionate, angstful but also celebratory. (Neile)

Comments:

While this album is reminiscent of Mary Lydia Ryan's Devil With Wings, it is even jazzier and more improvisational. The songs are mostly long, many running eight minutes, and the final track runs over 14 minutes. The songs move between the highly melodic and catchy to loose patches where the sound is all over the place, but still, always, compelling. While it becomes a little less engaging for me in the middle of the album—always a danger with improvisational music—overall it's quite an impressive album. Nicely packaged, too. Heads up, all fans of jazzier pop. (Neile)
