Comments:

The disc contains a couple of songs written by Nick Drake but never recorded, some covers of Nick Drake songs, and some other bits "inspired" by Nick Drake. Also a bad rendition of "Song for Ireland" sung with a particularly strong American accent that rather grates. To be honest Scott Appel doesn't do the songs justice. His vocal abilities are not in the same class as Nick Drake, and his guitar playing, though technically impressive, is too acerbic for my taste, and doesn't really fit the songs. Overall he simply isn't capable of recreating the same mellow, haunting quality that Nick Drake instilled in his music (but then who is). I found it a bit disappointing. But once you've got all four of the available Nick Drake albums (or the box set) and want the last little bit, then it's the only way to hear those songs other than on bad quality bootlegs.
