lotterose @ gmail.comHello! My name's Sarah Morayati and I'm a proud ectophile Barring some nostalgic/primordial influences, my musical tastes can all be traced back to Sarah Brightman. I first heard her in Phantom, of course, and then discovered she had several solo albums. I proceeded to become a hyperdevoted fan, or as much of one as I could have been in high school when she wasn't touring the US. In the process, I looked into the artists she covered, and worked with. One thing led to another. My current pantheon, in no particular order: Kristin Hersh, Tanya Donelly, Kate Bush, Happy Rhodes, Stina Nordenstam, Cathy Davey, Carol Keogh. As for my broader music tastes, all I can say is that I have no idea; I love what I love, and love it a lot. A little more about me: Currently (as of 2009) I attend UNC—Chapel Hill, which really needs more of an ecto presence if you ask me. I collect CDs, naturally; digital music will never seem the same. I sing, but as of 2008 don't play any instruments, something which I regret more and more every day. I dabble in writing, particularly interactive fiction (which bleeds a bit into programming, I suppose.) And I read quite a bit; a few of my favorite writers are Margaret Atwood, Tennessee Williams, and Christina Rossetti. But really, this isn't about me; it's about you, and it's about the wonderful artists in this guide. Perhaps one, or many, of them, will mean to you what they mean to me. Support good music!
