Comparisons:

Hard call: her particular combination is unique. Recommended if you like Smoke City, Anja Garbarek, vocally a little like Hanne Hukkelberg and with that kind of musical inventiveness

Covers/own material:

Own, co-writing, and covers

General comments:

Her music is hard to define (see comparisons above), but the sound is overall inventive, alternative pop with a strong Brazlian flavour. The music is well-constructed and her voice is gorgeous. It sounds like her first album is much more mainstream pop than the second, but I've only heard The Shine of Dried Electric Leaves, which I highly recommend. (Neile)

Comments:

A little light and fluffy, as the combo of 6 Degrees electro-world and a poppy Brazilian singer might be expected to be, but it's in the shuffle and is slowly sinking into my conciousness in a good way. (neal)

Comments:

Her label says this is a: "genuine masterpiece, combining rootsy acoustic instrumentation & electronic processing, noise guitars & children's toys, captivating textural soundscapes & pure melodies carried by her unmistakable, moving voice." Really, you can't do any better than that at describing the sound of the CD. It's inventive and sweet and passionate. Highly listenable. Check it out! (Neile)

One of the top discs of 2006. (gordoja@optonline.net)
