Comparisons:

Her voice is somewhat like a stronger Sarah McLachlan's

Covers/own material:

Own

General comments:

Former member of Rose Chronicles, current frequent guest vocalist for the bands Balligomingo, Delerium, and Sleepthief, Kristy Thirsk has so far only put out one solo CD of her own material and it is somewhat hard to find. She still has that amazing voice, but I prefer her other work. (Neile)

Comments about live performance:

Some of you may remember a group called Rose Chronicles, fronted by a singer named Kristy Thirsk. :) I had no clue she had a new band, and even less of a clue that she would be playing in New York!!! That was a nice surprise.
They played a half-hour set, which was largely non-mind blowing, except for Kristy's amazing, wonderful, incredible voice. Wow. Seeing it happen in person was pretty impressive. (1/00, meth@smoe.org)

Recommended first album:

Souvenir is her only full-length solo recording to date

Recordings:

  • Souvenir (2004)
  • Undercover (EP, 2008)
  • Phoenix (2014)

Souvenir

Comments:

One of my top discs of the year. (gordodo@optonline.net)

Unfortunately, I found this too pop for my tastes and far prefer her work with Rose Chronicles. She has a gorgeous voice, but I prefer to hear it in services of more edgy material. (Neile)
