Comparisons:

First disc definitely Portishead-flavoured.

Covers/own material:

Own

General comments:

I don't really hear much Björk in this, despite how others compare her, but especially in the first disc I do get the Portishead comparisons. Chloe Day has a little girl voice which reminds me of a lot of many of her contemporaries. (Neile)

Comments:

I really enjoy this jazzy trip-hoppy album. "kingpin" and "catfight" especially are a blast, and have a delightful twisty rhythm. "Man in my bedroom corner" has a Portishead vibe. "Finger-painted smile" has a is a heart-breaking ballad, and a shift from the other tracks. (Neile)

Comments:

There are all kinds of little jazzy and folky turns in this basically pop album that make it above the crowd but this isn't quite as special for my tastes as The Return of.... Though I especially like the compelling "Dirty Little Secret." (Neile)
