Comparisons:

Somewhat like other projects Maddy Prior has done, but more traditional-sounding than Steeleye Span. Sometimes rather like some of The Chieftains' work

Covers/own material:

Traditional

General comments:

The Carnival Band and Maddy Prior both have separate careers and we originally brought together for a BBC Christmas program (A Tapestry Of Carols comes from this) and they continued to get together for performances and recordings. The combination of Maddy Prior's evocative voice and The Carnival Band's traditional (mostly done on traditional instruments) music is a lovely one, especially in the hymns and carols they do together.
