Comparisons:

A friend said she is a bit like Tracy Bonham, I hear a little Patty Griffin. But she's also just very "Julia." (bravegirl@earthlink.net)

She somehow reminds me of Heather Nova. In a way an australian Sinéad Lohan, or vice-versa, as far as the pop-with-roots element is concerned. (l.vanstuivenberg@chello.nl)

General comments:

I have her album and it's really incredible, I definitely recommend checking it out. (Songbird22@aol.com)

Comments about live performance:

Just saw Julia Darling last night. Julia was not bad, she was a confident performer with a strong voice and some good songs, and she definitely made some fans at her first show in Canada. As for me I found that there were a few songs I liked quite well but then quite a lot that I found quite boring as well...I liked enough of her songs that I'll definitely keep tabs on her progress but I wasn't floored by her and I'm not running out to my nearest CD store to buy her CD, which was just released yesterday up here in the Great White North. (kamesan@geocities.com)

By all means, check her out if she plays near you. She was showing a lot of promise back in '97 and I imagine she's developed even further. (afries@zip.com.au)

Comments:

These songs analyze faith, love, and life, and are quite powerful—her voice is clear and beautiful. She is definitely worth checking out. (Songbird22@aol.com)

I rather like her album. Great voice and nice songs. A bit ecto-lite, but very good anyway. "Crinolines and Waltzing" is the best song. (stjarnell@yahoo.com)
