Comments:

Wearing her influences all too boldly on her sleeve, Debra Guy obviously has big ambitions, but needs to tailor them to her resources. The songs here cry out for a bigger, more epic production á la Etheridge. lacking that, they tend—instrumentally, at least—to be rather samey, with familiar guitar strummings being repeated song after song. That said, she does play a mean twelve-string, riffing with real energy and clarity, and her strong voice and intelligent lyrics make her definitely one to watch once she adds a few more colours to her palette.
