General comments:

Crustation is a band of three instrumentalists who on this recording at least add vocalist Bronagh Slevin. The music is fairly standard trip hop with some nice songwriting. Bronagh Slevin has a smooth voice with a hint of lack of control in it which makes for a little edge. (Neile)

Comments:

It's hard to talk about this album as I can find out so little about the band. I got this because I heard "Purple" and "Down Down" on the She: A Female Trip Hop Experience compilation and liked them a lot. Those two tracks are the best tracks on Bloom, but not by much—the rest of the album is equally enjoyable. I like the instrumentation and the vocals. While they don't feel as essential to me as, say, Portishead or Lamb it's because their style is a little more dreamy and mellow. Not exactly ethereal—Bronwen Slevin's vocals are far too down-to-earth for that—but a step toward that direction. (Neile)
