Eve's PlumCountry of origin:U.S. Type of music generally:Alternative pop/rock Status:Band has broken up. Final release, Cherry Alive (1995) See also:Wikipedia's entry on Eve's Plum Comparisons:The Breeders, Letters to Cleo, Madder Rose Covers/own material:Own General comments:Eve's Plum were part of a wave of female-fronted alternative rock bands that flourished in the mid-1990s. Alas, few of them survived more than a couple of albums, and so it was with Eve's Plum. And yes, their name is a play on the name of the actress who played Jan on The Brady Bunch. envyRelease info:1993—Sony (U.S.)—BK 53070 Availability:Wide Ecto priority:Recommended for fans of alternative pop Group members:Colleen Fitzpatrick—vocals Guest artists:Don Fleming—lead guitar, extra guitar Produced by:Roger Greenawalt, co-produced by Steve Boyer Comments:Enjoyable alternarock with some driving, rocking tunes, some boppy tunes, some quieter ones. The lead singer has a strong voice. I enjoy listening to this but it's not quite distinctive enough to make its way into my player often. (Neile) |
