Comments:

Catie Moore's jazzy vocals merge nicely with the atmosphere the band makes. It's a filmic journey Sunset Room takes us on. You can easily imagine the vampy lounge singer in the red dress, the down-on-his-luck detective who catches her eye in the crowded bar.
Other such scenarios come easily to mind while hearing this. The catchy "In my Mind" sticks in my head. The uptempo "Sweeter" is less loungey than the other songs and makes for a nice change of pace. Moore scat-sings beautifully on it. The dark "Empty Room" has Catie Moore emoting to a frightening backdrop. It's a brilliant debut and the band will probably follow it with even more inspired works. (stjarnell@yahoo.com)
