Not nearly as charming or memorable as Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars. (JoAnn Whetsell) Stranger ThingsRelease info:2006—Fantasy Records—FCD-30030-2 Availability:Wide Ecto priority:Highly recommended Group members:Edie Brickell—lead vocals, electric guitar on "Wear You Down" Produced by:Bryce Goggin, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians Comments:For a band that hasn't recorded an album in 16 years, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians sound amazingly well-connected. Stranger Things isn't really like Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars, but it seems a natural follow-up, far more so than Ghost of a Dog did. Maybe because this effort reflects the band being themselves. It's more adult, more varied in style, and in places still quite fun. I hope this is a new beginning for the band and not just a one-time reunion project. But even if it is, it's one to be thankful for. (JoAnn Whetsell) Thanks to JoAnn Whetsell for work on this entry.
