Group members:Simone Grey—vocals, synthesizer Produced by:Simone Grey Comments:I've been stuck on Bare Wire's Delicatessen since "Seaweed" got stuck in my brain back in the dark ages of the Internet when I used to browse mp3.com to discover new artists. The dark, moody, unique sound caught me right away. The whole album has that favour. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com) new pair of shoes/permanent sleepRelease info:2004 Availability:See Bare Wire's site Ecto priority:Recommended for fans of the experimental and evocative. Group members:Simone Grey—vocals, guitar Comments:"new pair of shoes" is a series of three, and "permanent sleep" four minimal tracks, focusing on Simone Grey's emotional and evocative vocalistzations. Sometimes the lyrics are clear, other times her voice sounds more like an instrument than a converyer of language. Sometimes it's cut glasss and somethimes flowing water. It's all sung from the edge, of a broken relationship, or four ways to enter permanent sleep. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com) |
