Comments:

Strong-voiced rocking and ballads a la Melissa Etheridge and Sheryl Crow in the rock/pop mainstream. The album begins strongly with the rocking "Black Halo" which shows off V.K. Lynne's ability to write a song with a good hook and to sing powerful rock. "Scarlet Rain" follows, another standout, a lower-key yearning but still rocking song. She has a tendancy to write songs that are pretty but slightly clichéd both lyrically and musically (e.g. "Other Side of My World" and "My Bones"), but mainstream rock fans will find much to enjoy in the whole album, and I would recommend this to any fan of Melissa Etheridge and Sheryl Crow. V.K. Lynne has a bright future in rock. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)
