Petals of the Red MagnoliaRelease info:2010—self-released Availability:See Carol Martini's site Ecto priority:Recommended Group members:Carol Martini—vocals, harmony vocals, acoustic guitar Guest artists:Lewis Richards—acoustic guitar, 12-string guirar, eletric guitar, suitar-sitar, bass guitar, mandolin, keyboards, tambourine Produced by:Carol Martini, Lewis Richards, Keith Taylor Comments:Carol Martini makes amusing and sometimes moving music. She recalls Christine Lavin on occasion, though she's her own woman. This album houses several lovely and cute songs about the singer's mother. The style is mostly barebones acoustic, and it makes for a cool sound when combined with Martini's neat vocals. It's a record that's well worth a spin.
