General comments:

John Parish has been working with PJ Harvey since To Bring You My Love, but as a back-up session musician. PJ Harvey had long since stated that she was tired of playing guitar and just wanted to sing, and this album gave her that opportunity. i don't listen to it that much truth be told. but it is definitely moody, with PJ Harvey's bluesy voice, and stark vocals (iflin@speakeasy.net)

Comments:

I like this better than dance hall at louse point; however, even though I'm a big PJ Harvey fan, this doesn't work so well for me. I want to like her work with John Parish, but the songs just don't click for me they way her own songs do. The best I can say is that others, especially anyone who liked dance hall at louse point, will really like this but it's not my cup of tea. (Neile)

An album I really looked forward to and hoped I'd like it much more than I eventually did. No real explanation, it just didn't connect with me as I'd hoped. (adamk@zoom.co.uk)
