Spires That in the Sunset RiseRelease info:2003—Graveface Records—grave011 Availability:See Graveface Records' site Ecto priority:High if you don't scare easily Group members:Kathleen Baird, Taralie Dawn, Georgia Vallas—guitars, cello, violin, autoharp, melodical, harmonium, little harp, percussion, spike fiddle, mbira, piano, vocals Guest artists:Anne Fritz—violin on track 2, cello on tracks 4,5,6 Comments:Thoroughly weird and wired music from a trio who would have been burned as witches in the Middle Ages. It sounds like folk, if by folk you mean folk that's been left to marinate in Wicker Man-atmospherics and then had surgery carried out by the local exorcist. Who failed to restore the patient's health. I'm scared of this record but it keeps drawing me back. It's enchanted. (stjarnell@yahoo.com) Thanks to stjarnell@yahoo.com for work on this entry.
