I love her cd Melankton. It's on constant play at our house. My husband and I find her a little bit of a cross betweenHalou's Wiser cd and Dido's first cd but still with her own sound. Her first album came out last year, but I only just heard it. I've got it just playing over and over because I can't seem to get enough. This doesn't happen to me a lot; in thirty years of adult music listening, there are less than ten albums that I've liked this much (the second disk of Aerial, "A Sky of Honey" was the last) and none was a first album. (bowen@mac.com)I was browsing the new stuff on I-Tunes and came across an album by Kate Havnevik. I'd never heard of her before, but I was so drawn in by her music I downloaded the album instantly. I think if you're a fan of someone like Imogen Heap you'll like her. She seems to have a great range and I love the songs. I got the album about a year ago and it still gets regular rotations. She reminds me of Imogen Heap, then Björk (in part because of the Sigsworth connections to both those artists), but she's more mellow, so then I think Inara George/the bird and the bee, and it's all of the above, and mostly herself. Fabulous debut. (JoAnn Whetsell)

Guy Sigsworth, who's worked with Imogen Heap and Björk has produced this ep, and that's a good indicator of what the sound is like. Havnevik's vocals are sweet and sharp throughout. "Show me love" is like Heap's second album in sound, and the vocals are lovely. It's so catchy and dreamy it's hard to keep from singing along. "Think again" is soft and becalmed as Havnevik sings of love in a neat fashion. The ep is rounded off with a nice version of the first song, a lovely "The First time ever I saw your face" and the very seasonal "Winter Wonderland" and "Trollmors Vuggevise". The last of these really brought back some nice memories of childhood for me. It's a pretty perfect ep. (stjarnell@yahoo.com)
