General comments:

I'm amazed at how much this Scottish band sounds like Spirit of the West, which is from Vancouver, B.C. They have the same take on traditional jigs and reels and write their own traditional-sounding songs. Now this isn't usually my cup of tea, but early Spirit of the West I adore, and I really like this group's sound, too. The songs are lively and gentle. The male main singer's voice has a lovely Scottish burr and there are gentle female background vocals and she does a little lead singing, too. Gently charming, though of course many of the songs really folkrock.
Apparently the delay in their recording a follow-up disc has to do with them losing one of the band suddenly to cancer. They've decided to carry on, though. I'm glad. (Neile)

This a really delightful mix of traditional jigs and reel and new songs that are a mix of charming lover songs and some lively almost drinking songs. Whenever I put this on it wins me over. (Neile)
