General comments:

Bill Evans and Megan Lynch (BEML) each have solo careers, Bill Evans as a banjo (and guitar) player and Megan Lynch as a fiddler. Together they make wonderful vocal harmonies and join their instruments to great effect. Clearly, they've both been called virtuosos for a reason. Heads up to all fans of bluegrass, roots music, Americana, contemporary folk, new folk, alt-country—whatever you call it. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)

Comments:

The sound on this album ranges from rootsy bluegrass through contemporary folk/pop. Both Bill Evans and Megan Lynch have good evocative voices for this kind of material and their harmonies are lovely. Their press talks about their "natural and unassuming sophistication" and also mentioned "intensely intimate and difficult to categorize." Hell, yes. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)
