Comparisons:

Sheryl Crow with a touch of Margot Smith

Covers/own material:

Mostly own, occasional co-writing

General comments:

Dicte's music is tough, but arty and occasionally has touches of Europop. Her vocals are mostly forceful, sultry, and low but there are occasional beautiful lilts and balladic moments—she certainly has a lot of range. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)

Comments:

There's a lot of urgency and energy overall, but mostly this album feels really uneven to me. I'm not so fond of her out and out rock songs—they feel pretty dated—but tracks like "The Blue Skin" are really lovely and make it well worth tracking this down. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)
