Mess You UpRelease info:2002—Virt Records site—VRT1002 Availability:See Virt Records site for availability Ecto priority:Recommended Group members:Beth Boucher—vocals, acoustic guitar Guest artists:Kurt Swinghammer—electric guitar Produced by:Pete Prelesnik Comments:Beth Boucher's cd is easy on the ears. She reminds me a bit of Jill Sobule, both musically and vocally. Like Sobule her sweet voice might make you think her songs lack bite. They have plenty of clever lines and some strong tunes. The lovely "Unstamped" shows Boucher's talent for writing love songs. Like the best such songs, it's a sad one. The title track is bouncy and catchy. "Buried Down" is tougher sounding and it's also a very good song. It's a nice cd and it should appeal to a lot of people. (stjarnell@yahoo.com) Thanks to Anna Maria Stjärnell for work on this entry.
