Kelli ScarrCountry of origin:U.S. Type of music generally:Ethereal, eclectic alternative pop Status:Most recent release, Lully's (2003) See also:Her own site is currently missing (1/07), see Kelli Scarr's MySpace page Comparisons:Somewhat Stina Nordenstam-like, though her voice is raspier and a little stronger Covers/own material:Own General comments:Beautiful, evocative pop, but the hook is the vocals and not within the somewhat drifty songwriting. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com) Recommended first album:Lully's is her first solo release Recordings:Lully's Lully'sRelease info:2003—self-released Availability:Ecto priority:Highly recommended for ethereal pop fans Group members:Kelli Scarr Comments:This album comes packaged in a clear plastic clamshell holder with no artwork at all, and the website listed on the disc isn't there now. The only information on the disc is her name, the title, the tracklisting, and the address for the now non-existent website, www.kelliscarr.com, so all you can do is listen. And what information is there? Well, there's that interesting, raspy, ethereal voice. There's underplayed emotion. Ethereal/pop sounds that can't be pinned to one style. An intriguing listen.
