Cyn Ward has a rich voice and does guitar-based contemporary folk. Her songwriting is strong, though very much within her genre—what makes her stand out is her strong voice, which is always on the edge of harshness, which gives her ballads and edge and her life to her more lively tunes. This is a wide-ranging collection of songs, from sweet ballads to folkrockers to political songs to country. They hare held together by strong musicianship (the guitar work is especially lovely) and Cyn Ward's rich, mature voice.
