Meredith Meyer is now in the band Young Unknowns (their bandcamp page)

Comparisons:

She cites her influences as Suzanne Vega and Aimee Mann, and shares a producer with Eleni Mandell, but I sense a sort of Sheryl Crow, Mary Lee's Corvette vibe, as well.

Covers/own material:

Own material, but debut album covers the Police's "Wrapped Around Your Finger"

General comments:

On the basis of her first release, Meredith Meyer has a very, very good future ahead of her. I expect (and hope) to be hearing a lot more from her. (adamk@zoom.co.uk)

Comments:

For a debut from one so young, this is a remarkably assured, confident and mature release, bursting with great arrangements and great tunes. Granted, it starts off stronger than it finishes and her voice—although fine in itself—lacks the "oomph" that her material could benefit from, but it's an astoundingly promising start, compelling from the first notes of the first track. If this is any indication of things to come, we'll be hearing a lot more from and about Ms Meyer, and it will be good, good stuff. I'm already looking forward to her next one. Get on board now!
