Comments:

Dark, dreamy, drifty sounds with Kat Terran's raspy vocals. The beginning track, "September", sets the tone for the album. Musically very interesting, it's a mix of traditional electronic sounds with an emphasis on organic sounds and Kat Terran's aching alto to give it weight. "Sleeping Man"'s bass-line gives this a less dreamy feel as does the dark, twisting vocal line. "Outlaw Engineers" is the most dynamic track, a terrific song, and the most here like Kat Terran's solo work. "Alaska" is lovely and dark, quite traditionally ethereal except the focus on the yearning lyric line is stronger than in most such songs and the song more stripped down. In "Aviary" Kat Terran becomes a more alto version of other dreamy ethereal crooners. "House of Cards" is again more stripped down to the melody—a haunting, yearning song. The album ends with "track 11", a heartbreaker. Overall, a highly recommended disc for those who like dark, dreamy music. (Neile)
