Mark Knopfler's gritty voice and blues rock leanings work brilliantly with Emmylou's angelic voice and country stylings. (JoAnn Whetsell) Real Live RoadrunningRelease info:2006—Warner Bros./Nonesuch—44417-2 Availability:Wide Ecto priority:Highly recommended Group members:Mark Knopfler—guitar, vocals Guest artists:Richard Bennett—additional guitars Produced by:Guy Fletcher (CD); James Pluta (DVD) Comments:I like this album, though not as much as the studio album that preceded it. I would have liked them to rock out more and to collaborate more on covers of songs from their individual careers. "Red Dirt Girl" and "Boulder to Birmingham," for instance, don't sound very different from Emmylou's solo versions. (JoAnn Whetsell) Thanks to JoAnn Whetsell for work on this entry.
